Web Hosting and Drupal (Servage.net)The last time I switched, it probably took me 2 weeks to decide on which web host to go with. At the time, my website was just a few HTML pages but I wanted to try to run it as a wiki. I also wanted to use a web host that would give me room to expand in both space and features. After shortlisting several options, I decided on Servage and haven't looked back since. Storage space goes up every couple months, and the support staff is usually quite helpfull. The main features I was looking for was PHP, MySQL, email, the possibility to host multiple domains and the ability to configure as much as possible myself without having to contact their support staff (new MySQL db, mx records, cron jobs, subdomains, etc...). My first install was TWiki, which was Ok, but it just didn't look very sharp. I played around with Xoops for some time, but finally decided on Drupal. It was a relatively easy install on the Servage server. I downloaded the program files to my PC, then upload them to my webserver via ftp. The ftp is not particularly fast on the upload, but it's my understanding that is designed to maintain service standards on the webserver cluster, so I'm willing to live with it. Anyway, it's prertty cheap at CAD10 per month, including your domain name renewal fees. Click here to get your account setup today! (Bonus if you use my link)
